Helpful Tips
The following suggestions are provided to assist in completing your application and to help you apply for other educational funding.
1. Be sure to type or print clearly. Check carefully for spelling mistakes and poor grammar. Try to submit an application in an 8 ½ x 11 in envelope to avoid folding the documents.
2. Be sure to include all awards, honors, and citations that you may have earned in school, avocations, professional organizations, fraternal organizations, or school.
3. It is useful to have general information readily available such as in the form of resumes
4. A photocopy or internet copy of your latest academic record along with a statement of your GPA is acceptable. An official transcript may be required later
5. Be sure to indicate the full amount of family income and money needed for your entire application when presenting your financial circumstances.
6. Generally only a small percentage of students take the time to return application therefore you should apply for as much financial aid as possible.
7. Be sure to submit applications as soon as possible in other words, do not procrastinate.
8. Scholarships are just one source of funding. Be sure to seek alternative funding sources such as free grants, corporate sponsorships, and income supplements. The internet is an excellent source for available funding, also, your school resource center should be able to help
